4 Similies of Awareness 

Awareness is vast like the sky
Like clouds, everywhere thoughts arise
While thinking, there’s still Awareness
How could clouds ever hide the sky?

Awareness is lucid like the mirror
Where images appear one after another
Mirror’s still bright when images blur
No need polishing, Nirvana abides forever

Awareness is deep like the sea
Embracing all thoughts that could be
Emerge from ocean, waves big or tiny
Thoughts back and forth: Awareness is the source

Awareness is luminous as the screen
Where endless images are vividly seen
Enjoying scenes, but not lost in scenes
Great Bliss clearly revealed without seeking!

One early summer afternoon, Trong Suot and his students sat on the beach in Hội An. Some of the students asked for a song to understand and remember Awareness easily.

The blue sea, gentle waves lapping the shore, and the sound of the wind whispering over the sandy beach.

This poem spontaneously appears in the lake mind of Trong Suot.
